Bidra med feedbackIt's a really enjoyable place to visit, though it can be a bit tricky to locate. They offer a great variety of base options, but the selection of toppings is smaller compared to other places I've been to. The chia seed pudding is excellent, and they have quite a few granola choices as well.
This is definitely my favorite spot on campus. I love that I can customize my order, and the lines are always quick. While it is a bit pricey, it’s not too bad compared to other acai places in San Diego, especially considering the portion sizes you receive.
I'm fairly new to açaí bowls, but I was excited to see Blue Bowl open a location at UCSD. Situated at Sixth College, I believe the owners were selected as a vendor because they are alumni of UCSD! I visited during the midday on a weekday and noticed that the place was quite empty, so I was served immediately. The staff was very patient and allowed me plenty of time to make my selections. I chose the açaí base along with chia seed pudding and all the available fruit toppings. This combination worked really well together, and it's nice to see them adding new options from time to time. If you’re ever on campus, definitely check out this spot!
The bowl was a bit pricey, but it was worth it because of the quality of the ingredients. I was pleasantly surprised by how the matcha base had a flavor reminiscent of a combination of matcha soft serve and paste. I also appreciated the variety of fruit options—strawberries, bananas, and blueberries—and the fact that I could have all of them.
In my opinion, it’s definitely overpriced. I ordered the Lazy Blue, and it didn’t taste as natural as the acai bowls from other local shops in the area. Perhaps it was because the staff member who assisted me was new? I might consider giving it another chance, especially if I have a coupon, but I can't justify the prices as they are.
