Bidra med feedbackThe highlight of the evening was definitely the steak; both the tomahawk and the filet mignon were served with a butter flambé at the table, and the tomahawk was particularly melt-in-your-mouth delicious. The Chilean sea bass was also quite good. I enjoyed the calamari, especially with the addition of small chili peppers, but I was underwhelmed by the sides; the Parmesan truffle fries and vegetables weren’t impressive, and the creamed spinach was just okay. I was also disappointed with the drinks, which is another reason for the lost star. The Old Fashioned was too diluted, and the Negroni was merely average. However, the desserts redeemed the meal somewhat—we tried the chocolate cake, which was good, and the bag of donuts, which was excellent. Would I come back? I might give this place another chance, but there are plenty of steakhouses in San Diego that I already love and know what to expect.
We dined here on Valentine's weekend and were fortunate to have made a reservation. The food was excellent, and the drinks were equally impressive! Our experience was made even better by our server, Steven, who was incredibly knowledgeable about the menu and helped us curate a perfect meal. He kept us entertained with great humor—thank you, Steven!
My experience at Maria was quite good. I did have to send my steak back, though—I ordered it medium rare, but it came out well done. The egg in brioche was fantastic, and my girlfriend's avocado toast with poached eggs was both tasty and had a nice kick to it. Overall, the prices felt a bit high for the quality of the food, but the live DJ added a lot to the atmosphere, making it worth it. I'd definitely consider coming back. They also offer bottomless mimosas and Bloody Marys!
