The Izakaya - Sacramento

Always a good meal to be had here ... I love the R2. Real California Roll and the M2. Beef Ramen the house special ramen and chicken sukiyaki .... fairly priced and good atmosphere ....

I felt that the flavor of the Tonkatsu Ramen and the M3. Chicken Ramen were bland and underwhelming. I had to add some crunchy chili oil and more seasoning. The portions were very generous and the flavor of the individual elements was good. The Stuffed Mushrooms were VERY delicious! Great flavor.. just the broth and ramen were disappointing.

Cons : no utensils, napkins, or even soy sauce to go with the sashimi. That definitely made things harder. The sesame chicken was pretty soggy and doughy, and the meat and batter separated. Pros: despite not having soy sauce, the N7. Sake nigiri was fresh and delicious. No smell or "fishy" taste at all. The tempura veggies came perfectly crispy with a good variety, and were delicious. The Bento portions were very generous! The miso Miso Tofu Soup was hot and delicious. I would order again, but have soy sauce and utensils handy, and change sesame chicken to a different bento item.

I ABSOLUTELY LOOOOOVE The Izakaya!! Ive ordered several dishes over the years and all have been very good, GREAT service and reasonable prices! My favorite dishes are the steak teriyaki- the sauce is soo good! The Beef udon is awesome and very flavorful. Shrimp tempura mmmm! Nice crunch, even with delivery!! Keep up the GREAT WORK!!!

Never eaten here before but its always had great reviews. Our M1. House Special Ramen was not good. Broth smelled strange and had very little flavor. Egg was unseasoned and hard cooked (different than every other ramen Ive ever had...usually soft boiled). Sushi roll was decent but the fish inside was cooked and chewy. The roll was deep fried but even then, usually the fish is raw. Maybe that was our mistake. Ultimately, we ate half the sushi roll and threw away the ramen. Never experienced anything quite like that before. Hopefully it was an anomaly since people seem to love this place.
