Bidra med feedbackWe love Bottle Bay Marina- we've been coming here for years. Resteraunt and staff are great. However- minus one huge star- the guy in charge of rentals and the boat launch finds a way to chide us every year. He does a good job of making people feel unwelcome. He is a bummer. Bro, Find something else to do or change your attitude. No customers equals no dinero, you chose a service industry business. Act professional.
This is overdue, but I wanted to give them a recent review. We took the boat out mid August, ended up staying on the lake longer than expected so we decided to stop by and grab a quick bite. We had the flat bread pizza which was OK, but they had meat smoking in the smoker and that looked and smelled amazing.. They were waiting on their liquor permit so no adult beverages for sale yet. The patio and deck are awesome to check out lake views, hope to come back next season and give them another try.
I truly wish I didn 't have to write this kind of a review but feedback is critical for improvement. I am a long-time summer resident of the Bottle Bay area (1969). My family and I have been going to Bottle Bay for lunch/dinner/boat gas forever. We have never been more disappointed than we have this summer (2017). While we love a boat trip over to the Bottle Bay Resort restaurant for a sunny lunch, this year we have had TWO awful experiences. The first trip we took over for lunch. When we arrived they informed us that they were without a real cook for a few weeks and had a limited menu. Limited doesn 't begin to describe what they had; two sandwiches and a hot dog ... C 'MON! But that 's not the worst of it. My two guests ordered one of each of the sandwiches and I went with the hot dog. How in the world you can mess this order up is appalling to me but they managed. The hot dog was $6.95 so I 'm figuring this has got to be a pretty nice dog ... has to be better than the great dog I can get at Costco for $1.49. It arrives and I am dumbstruck. This was the smallest hot dog you could possibly purchase at the grocery store; wilted and shrunk. And yet it gets worse. The bun was so stale I could hardly bite into it. UNBELIEVABLE that ANY self-respecting place of service would even have the gall to put that in front of someone. The sandwiches were ok but very simple sandwiches which could have been made better at your own kitchen counter top ... just a basic sandwich ... FOR $11.95!!! When the bill came I was further shocked when they had the gall to then charge me $8.95 for this piece of **** they called a hot dog. I of course let the waiter know of these shortcomings, had to pull the menu out to quote their own prices to them and vowed not to return. I wish I had kept that vow. A few weeks later, with yet further guests in tow, we returned, hoping that a new cook was now on board and they made a return to the days of good burgers and more elaborate dishes. NOT! The menu was pitiful, the burgers awful, and the service slow and mediocre. And this time when a sandwich arrived with STALE bread AGAIN I took it right back to the counter and requested FRESH bread. This is SAGLE not SIBERIA. GO OUT AN GET SOME BREAD! Why anyone would serve stale ANYTHING and think it 's alright is beyond me. ... and believe me I 'm not the picky one in the family. My wife chastised me all the time for keeping food around too long, so you know if I think it 's stale, IT 'S STALE! On top of all of this they must think they are in southern California or something with their OUTRAGIOUS pricing. We couldn 't wait to get out of there and of course never returned for the rest of the summer. Not sure it will be on our list at ANY time in the future summers either. So be forewarned, if you 're looking for even a snippet of quality food, DON 'T go to the Bottle Bay Marina as it will not be found. Outragious pricing and horrible food with mediocre service ... is this is a place you really want to try ... ? I truly hope they do some serious off-season soul searching and improve their overall operation. I don 't want to see them go under but a place like this relies on return customers and at the rate they are going the only people they will attract are one-and-dones!
The location of this place is just about all they have going for them. Service, we felt like we had been forgotten, even though we were 1 of the 2 tables currently seated. French fry basket, delish some of the best we've had in a long while. Don't get me started on the barn like smelling bathrooms, maybe think about cleaning them once a week and then they'd have something. Kinds of shocked to know this is a Schweitzer owned property. @ski.schweitzer
Great spot for lunch. The smoked salmon tacos were tasty and they easily switched the side to coleslaw. Can't beat the view from the deck.
