Wong's Garden - Saint Clair Shores

This was my first visit, and I was pleased to discover a Chinese restaurant with an open dining area, especially since many around here seem to focus solely on take-out and delivery. I had lunch, and the specials were all around $9, which included hot tea, soup, an egg roll, chicken fried rice, and duck. Everything was fresh and cooked to perfection. The staff were friendly and provided prompt service. I'll definitely be back!

I recently moved to the area and was on the hunt for a decent Chinese restaurant. Wong's Garden was just what I needed. The ambiance captures the classic charm of an old-school Chinese eatery, and the food quality is impressive. We ordered the pot stickers, and they were stuffed with flavorful pork. After eating here, I didn’t experience that guilty feeling you sometimes get from other restaurants; everything was perfectly cooked. This was my first visit, but it definitely won't be my last. The staff was friendly and took the necessary precautions to prevent the spread of germs, wearing appropriate PPE.

Good lunch. Good service. Tso Chicken was very crispy with tasteful white meat, but the sauce was a little bland. Hot and acid soup was scaled hot, so I had to wait halfway through the duck to let it cool enough to eat, but it was well seasoned. Egg roll had shrimps, which was a nice surprise. Substituting hot/sour for egg drops was $3.95 extra, which seemed like a little, but the soup was excellent.

I give this restaurant 5 stars because the food is consistently outstanding. However, I did have a frustrating experience when I called to place an order and spoke with a young woman who had a strong English accent. She was quite rude and confused our last order. Despite that, the rest of the staff is always great, and the food never disappoints!

This place is truly a gem in St. Clair Shores. The food is delicious and the owner Kim is the nicest, sweetest lady. They have the best almond chicken and wonton soup. The cream cheese wontons are delicious as well!!!
