Dobie's Steaks More - Saint Francis

Not horrible; not great. We were hoping that the new Dobie 's would show some TLC and upgrades from the previous ownership, but it may in fact be slightly worse now. Talk and pop/rock music played softly on the sound system--not exactly a good sign for a pricey restaurant, and not relaxing. The waitstaff were efficient and prompt, though by the time we left they had disappeared somewhere. The food was middling--fine, but not worth a return visit. Our strip steak was at the requested medium-rare, but it was not a juicy and savory cut--it was quite dry and mealy in texture. It looked properly cooked, but tasted overcooked--not sure why. We also had pan-fried perch. The fish itself was tasty, but the breading was unseasoned and very gummy--perhaps the oil in the pan was not hot enough. The relish tray and sides were fine, nothing distinctive. The bartender made us a couple of tasty manhattans, so that was a plus. Overall, though, we were underwhelmed. For the kind of money involved, there are more welcoming spaces with higher quality ingredients and more attentive preparations. Food: 2 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 2

Visiting after 6 years and looking forward to jumbo shrimp. Shrimp was barely larger than regular shrimp. Yet I was charged for jumbo $26.00. Very disappointed. My son ordered filet and got a piece of thin oblong meat definitely not a filet. He said it tasted good but not the filet he wanted. To say that we were happy would be a lie. Dinner was good, server was friendly and attentive. It’s been cool to watch the restaurant grow and change as the years go on. I’ve been dining since 2000 as a child and will continue to do so

This place used to be an awesome place for steaks but NOT anymore since new owners took over he got rid of all the big steaks. this will be the last time I come here .
