It’s sweet savoury all in one.<br/ <br/ The pork fried rice was fragrant comes in a big serve! The right amount of saltiness that wok fried flavour round this dish out to be delicious. <br/ <br/ The corn soup was a nice warm starter, very wholesome cooked strands of egg whites with pieces of corn small amount of chicken. Wish it had more chicken in it. <br/ <br/ The ‘juicy pork dumplings’ as they call it is delicious. Dumpling bursting with pork soup pork mince filling. The accompanying vinegar brings the classic to life! <br/ <br/ The servers are all very lovely. Bringing tea to your table after you take your seat. <br/ <br/ My recommendation- check out the affordable lunch time specials!
The dumplings were probably my favourite thing of the night and I wish I could have eaten a whole basket to myself. The dumplings were a good size, not too large or small, and were very juicy. Green Onion Halibut. This was another favourite dish of mine for the night. The halibut was flakey and moist and the green onion sauce was delicious
I must have passed by Lin Chinese Cuisine countless of times on my commute to UBC back in the day. Because of their location at West Broadway and Granville, I assumed that their Chinese food would be more accustomed to Western tastes. Being that my hometown is Richmond, I was accustomed to the Chinese restaurants in Richmond serving closely authentic dishes. Last month, I was excited to attend a media event organized by Chinesebites.com at Lin Chinese Cuisine. I finally got the chance to try their dishes and find out what they are about.
NOTE: As part of the ChineseBites media event, all food and beverages were free, but all opinions are based on my own experience. Lin Chinese Cuisine and Tea House is just a few blocks down from my office on West Broadway and we usually order take out here during busy season. From my previous experience, it wasn’t exactly the greatest, so I was curious to see what there was to offer during the ChineseBites media event.
Came here for lunch while waiting for a tire repair nearby. We came at the right time as it became very busy and full shortly after. I ordered a simple tofu vegetables from the lunch menu. Portion side was small but just enough. Taste is good as well
