Sea Side Take Out - Saint John

Been staying in St. Martin's for the week and touring the coast. Should have had our first chowder here. Loaded with fish including more lobster than any other we've tried. Met the cook and she said she makes it from scratch. So delicious we are bringing several bowls and their seafood caserole back to Montreal. Chowder was just like my mother made when I was growing up on PEI. This is authentic Atlantic Fish Chowder! Give yourself a gift. Don't pass this one by.

My friend and I stopped in for lunch and had the bacon wrapped scallops and seafood chowder with a roll. The chowder was loaded with fish, lobster, shrimp and scallops and it was not thick and creamy which suited me just fine. I enjoyed it and the service was great as was the view. The bacon wrapped scallops were delicious as well.

We were so disappointed! We travelled for about an hour and a half to reach St. Martins, a wonderful seaside village in Saint John County, New Brunswick. We immensely enjoyed meeting the people, but we're so disappointed with the Sea Side Take Out! Being from Atlantic Canada we know Seafood. When we went in we wondered why the place was virtually empty on a sunny summer suppertime. When they served us burnt food, Fish & Chips and Clams, we soon realized why the place was empty when the place next door was bustling. Yes, we truly were so disappointed with the Sea Side Take Out! It definitely was Not Up to Atlantic Canada Standards!

Would not recommend seaside. The cave is much better. Portions are small and we had fish n chips it was way over cooked had a bowl of chowder and it was nothing to jump over so I would say it not the world's best. Had better.

The Seaside restaurant and takeaway is a friendly spot right by the sea caves and beach in St.martin. We stopped for a late afternoon bowl of chowder after exploring the stunning nearby Fundy Trail. The lovely waitress could not have been nicer or more helpful. The chowder, a seafood chowder, was packed with lobster, fish and clams. Very good! So good we ordered a lobster roll to share and again were very pleased with the fair price and generous serving of very fresh lobster on a toasted hot dog bun. There is another restaurant next door but if you want great chowder and lobster rolls head for the yellow Seaside restaurant.
