Melt Ice Cream - Salem

I’m just sharing my honest opinion, and I truly don’t understand why this place has such high ratings. Our experience started on a bad note when we asked for a sample and found hair on the spoon—definitely a sign we should have taken to leave. We then ordered two scoop sundaes, but they were more like one scoop each, and they only topped half the cup with whipped cream and hot fudge. While the ice cream flavors sounded creative and appealing, they ultimately turned out to be just average. There are much better ice cream places nearby.

The ice cream here is absolutely delicious! I particularly loved the caramel flavor—it was fantastic. The staff is friendly, and they offer some really cool flavor options.

The restaurant typically offers around 20 different flavor options, all of which are expertly crafted. The staff is friendly and accommodating. While the prices are on the higher side, they use high-quality local ingredients, which justifies the cost.

We really enjoy Melt, but last night when we ordered two hot fudge sundaes around 9 PM, we were disappointed. Instead of pumping the hot fudge, they were scooping it out in large clumps. I mentioned to the staff that it seemed there was something off about the fudge, and the girl explained that it was the end of the pot, so they couldn't pump it. Unfortunately, it was ice cold and quite unappetizing. If they were that low on fudge, they really shouldn't have been selling it. Overall, we were very disappointed!

Ice cream portion was appropriate and the flavors were awesome. Seasonal sweet cream was phenomenal and so was the blueberry citrus. Prices are a bit high, but they seem to be normal for these days.
