Black Bear Diner - Salinas

I give this restaurant 5 stars because it truly deserves it. The only downside was that their POS system was down, so they could only accept cash. However, this did not detract from the 5-star experience. Our server, Dante, provided excellent service. He was attentive and honest when he suggested we share our meal because it was so large. They split the meal in the kitchen, but there was still too much food for me even after giving half to my husband! We enjoyed the Country Fried Steak, which was delicious.

A diner is always a safe bet! The food was typical diner fare, not anything extraordinary but still delicious. The service was friendly and attentive.

This restaurant is fantastic. The service is warm and welcoming, akin to being treated like family. The staff are professional and friendly, making the atmosphere very pleasant. The restaurant is impeccably clean and has a unique charm that adds to the overall dining experience. The menu offers a wide variety of options and everything I tried was excellent. I will definitely be returning whenever I am in the area. There is plenty of parking available in the plaza. Kudos to the restaurant for maintaining such high standards, keep up the good work!

Party of 7. My 1st time at this location.Visiting with my family hanging out shopping.We was seated in the backroom which was fine with us away from the crowds upfront. No social distant going on in the front of the resturant. People were sitting elbow to elbow at the counter seating and back to back in the side booths????????Utensils were not clean. Had to request for new ones.I ordered a spinach and onion Omelet. Omelet wasn't fully cooked. It look pretty on the plate

We loved the banana cream pie dessert. It has the right amount of sweetness! However the cleanliness of our table close by the restroom was not what we expected, dirty. A waiter wiped down the table but he left the mess on the seats as well as missed spots. The person seating us was busy with other duties rather than focusing on the customer to be seated.
