Now picture someone transforming this building into a trendy restaurant while still respecting its original features. Congratulations, you've found yourself at Boiler House. Located on the outskirts of San Antonio, in a former distillery area that has seen a recent surge in population among young people and artists, this restaurant has been open since the end of 2012 and has quickly gained a good reputation among locals. Known for their quality dishes, variety of beers, and impressive ambiance, Boiler House is a popular spot for weekend gatherings with live music and during the week for business lunches. The meat dishes stand out, especially the bison pier and lamb with chimichurri mint, which are bursting with flavor. However, the standout dish for me was the cheese - a bubbling Swiss casserole served with toast. If you find yourself in San Antonio, be sure to visit this gem of a restaurant.

Imagine a building of boilers that is over 100 years old (135 to be exact). Wood, bricks, aluminum, and ovens from that time. Now imagine someone decides to take that building, respecting everything in it, and turn it into the trendiest restaurant. Congratulations, you are at Boiler House. Located on the outskirts of San Antonio, in an area that used to be a distillery and has seen a rapid growth in population among young people and artists in recent years. Open as a restaurant since late 2012, this old boiler building has already earned a good reputation among locals thanks to the quality of its dishes, variety of beers, and spectacular presentation. On weekends, it fills up with young people looking for meat and live music; while on weekdays, it is common to find executives enjoying a select business meal. The preparation of the meats is exquisite, I was impressed by the bison tartare. The skewers are also outstanding; the lamb skewer with mint chimichurri is a burst of flavor. But the dish that left me speechless -especially in a restaurant specializing in meats- was the cheese. A bubbling pot of Swiss cheese ready to spread on artisan bread toast. A true delight for the palate. If you visit San Antonio, do not miss out on this restaurant.
This restaurant in a new and lively development just off downtown San Antonio is fantastic. There are plenty of activities to enjoy around The Pearl, and it's conveniently located near the River Walk extension. The restaurant offers delicious Texas and American cuisine, with a wonderful ambiance to match.
