The Cookhouse - San Antonio

I made a reservation through OpenTable for last Saturday, January 16th. I tried calling several times but kept getting the same voicemail because no one answered the phone. When my wife and I arrived, we found the place closed, with a chain and lock around the main entrance. I understand they may have chosen to close, but it would have been helpful if they updated their social media with the status of reservations during this time. As of now, both the website and their Facebook page still show the location as open.

Our experience was quite disappointing. Despite our reservation, we arrived to find the restaurant closed. We were not informed about the closure in advance, which was frustrating. I had hoped for some form of compensation for the inconvenience, but I won't hold my breath. I've dined at this restaurant multiple times in the past and have recommended it to others, but now I'm uncertain if I will return. Time will tell.

We will miss this san antonio institution forever. the oysters, the garnels, the gummy bears. all amazing. as a girl from new orleans I was here for my NO repair. a lot of luck with pieter and susan in their new projects. we look forward to seeing what comes.
