Got this delivered to me so can't speak to actually eating at the restaurant. Got the chicken banh mi.It was filled to the brim with really tender and flavorful chicken and veggies. The veggies were also crunchy and not too sweet which some pickled veggies at other places can be.The only downside for me was the bread, which is a pretty critical component of banh mi. Not crunchy at all. Just soft, even the crust.
Best Banh Mi in San Diego ever. They loaded the sandwich w their handmade meat. By far best value delicious. I don't drive for food but would def drive for this place
I ordered grilled pork banh mi and grilled lemongrass beef with vermicelli, along with side order of egg rolls yes, all for me as dine in for lunch.Beef was way better than the pork. Beef had lots of flavor with lemon grass and green onions, grilled and still juicy in my big bowl of noodles, which was a decent size. it came with pickled carrots, jicama, cucumber, bean sprouts, lettuce, and fish sauce. (It would have been better with crushed peanuts and if fried eggrolls came with the meal already; you pay an extra $1.50 for an eggroll, but I ordered a side of 4 anyway).Grilled pork was good but missing a little in flavor or char, but the sandwich was a really good size as you can see by my photos filled with pickled vegetables. (I think it could have used garlic mayo or some kind of aoili sauce). Bread was warm and crisp. To my surprise, crispy and salty taro chips came on the side.Four crispy hot eggrolls with a bed of lettuce and pickled carrots/jicama came with dipping sauce.Service was friendly and fast. Food came quickly after I ordered at the counter. Nice gal at the cashier brought me food, checked on me, and brought me a to go box when I couldn't finish all my food. Park in the lot behind the shopping center/strip mall near the side entrance of Barnes Noble!
