Bidra med feedbackExcellent food! The unagi pizza looked sounded great from all the reviews and this one didn't disappoint. It was super easy to split half a pizza half a pasta dish (we had the cod roe pasta). I would definitely come back again for squid ink pasta given soba is generally served cold I am curious if the roe cold pasta one is inspired by soba. I thought the portions were good for what we got the quality of the food.Parking: plenty if you arrive before 6pm. between 7 and 8, expect to hunt for a spot!
My cousin and I were here last Friday. We weren't sure about having Italian- Japanese infused food but I got to say it was delicious. I'd never had a lobster pizza before and the beef Bolognese was better here than most straight Italian places. For dessert I had the Black Sesame Pie(? . Unique and very good. And the service the was good too. We will be back.
Finally tried it for the first time, and I loved it. The food is lighter than standard Italian fare, but still incredibly flavorful and satisfying. I tried the calamari, corn soup, and crab with creamy tomato sauce pasta. The calamari was a LITTLE tough but I did enjoy the shishitos that came with it. I've never been to Japan, but the atmosphere just FEELS like a small cafe you might find over there. It's small, cozy, I loved the smooth jazz in the background...it just hit all the right buttons for me. Service was quick and friendly. And also, it's an amazing value too. Most of the pasta dishes are under $20 with a few exceptions. Two appetizers, two pastas and two drinks came out to just a bit over $60. For the quality, I don't think you can beat it.Will definitely be coming back on the regular.
I'd give this place 10 stars if I could. I recently stumbled upon this place and I've already eaten here at least a handful of times and I am always in the mood for the same dish, salmon with spinach in cream sauce and I'll continue to get this dish because I absolutely love it. Aside from the amazing medley of flavors, I'm even more impressed by how consistently amazing it is every time I have it. The dish comes out piping hot and is the perfect portion to devour in one sitting without feeling like you need a nap after. The place is normally quiet, so service is efficient and it baffles me that this place isn't packed with people considering it's a restaurant in convoy. Kudos to the restaurant for bringing Japanese fusion food together and executing it perfectly! If you're in convoy and are interesting in trying something different from the 100 Asian restaurants on the block, but still crave Asian flavors, then this is the place to go!
I love Bistro Kaz. It's my must go whenever I'm visiting San Diego. It's a quaint and charming Japanese Italian fusion restaurant with an interior that kind of gives coffee shop vibes. I ordered the cod roe, salmon roe butter soy pasta and it is by far my favorite thing to eat here. Unlike most Italian pastas, this one is very light. You won't feel too stuffed or overly full eating here. It is a really nice lightly salty flavor from the roe and it isn't overly creamy either. Comes with two little pieces of bread you can dip and soak up the sauce with. I love the nori bits on top for a little bit of texture. I daydream about this dish nonstop. Service is good! I've had a wonderful experience both of the times I've dined in. I want to come back as soon as I can!!!
