Total Meltdown - San Francisc

I was taken aback by the prices after seeing the food I received. The grilled cheese was sized like a kid's portion, and the dipping sauce tasted like a spicier version of canned tomato soup—very lackluster overall. The bread consisted of small slices and nothing exceptional, in my opinion. A great grilled cheese requires quality bread, fresh cheese, and some seasoning. Honestly, I can make a better one at home! I really think this place needs to either improve their offerings or lower their prices. I usually don't write reviews, but I found the sandwich and the stuffed mac and cheese balls to be incredibly disappointing given what I paid.

I've had wonderful brunches at this place. The food is fantastic, the coffee is excellent, and the service is top-notch. I highly recommend Total Meltdown!

We ordered the cheesemonger grilled cheese, Seoul Food mac and cheese, and cheesemonger melted cheesy potatoes. The combination was definitely different from what I expected. The cheesy potatoes had a crispy exterior and a gooey interior, which was nice. The mac and cheese was just average; I was hoping for more kimchi flavor. The grilled cheese was quite good too. I ended up saving half of my meal for the next day because the portions are generous, and it's all quite heavy on the carbs.

3 stars for the mac bites, but the fried chicken mac and cheese I got wasn't as great as it could be. The chicken didn't taste seasoned and was tough to chew. Nothing about it really stood out to me. Just tasted like unseasoned and overcooked chicken was thrown onto some regular mac and cheese. It would be a great dish if the chicken had more flavor, and if the mac and cheese was more seasoned. I'd love to give this place a try again in the future. Service was great!
