Brass Tacks - San Francisco

Good bar with a great atmosphere. Sometimes a guy is there with his sweet parrot. He's a boss and his bird is definitely the coolest thing about this place. I first had done stars, but then I thought about that bird and they deserve more for allowing that.

Cute, dark bar in Hayes Valley. Their craft drinks were good, the bartenders were friendly and attentive. The place was a little loud for me, so it made it hard to speak and hear my date. But could be a cool bar for a larger group of people- not the best for an intimate night with a partner or friend.

A nice, chill place but below-average drinks for the price. Had both an Old Fashioned and a Moscow Mule and they were mediocre...the ratios of the ingredients were off and I really don't like a bunch of small ice cubes in bourbon. Also, the bartender didn't mention the $20 credit card minimum until I asked to cash out...pretty shady. This may have been an isolated experience but with so many great bars in the area I won't be back to this one.

They now added a mandatory 20% on the bill. Pay attention to it that the 20% is not only calculated on the drinks price but on sales taxes as well. It’s shady! I paid 28 dollars for a beer and a margarita. Watch out!

Aren't bars supposed to be fun? This bar definitely is not. Staff is unfriendly and the drinks are not good. Do not go here.
