Thang Long's - San Francisco

This restaurant is the original Crustaceans, operated by the AN family, who are famous for having a separate kitchen where only family members are privy to their secret recipes for the world-renowned Drunken Crab and AN's Garlic Noodles. The atmosphere is fantastic, the staff is friendly, and the food is exceptional. During my last visit, I inquired about their crab dish sales on that Friday night, and by 9 PM, they had already served 475 whole crab dinners, which clearly reflects the restaurant’s specialty and popularity among customers. Be prepared for a wait unless you have a reservation or arrive early, as this place is guaranteed to be bustling, and it's definitely worth it!

Beebler is spot on; it really is quite messy. They'll provide you with a bib, and you'll definitely want to use it. But the crab is absolutely delicious! I tried the tamarind flavor, and it was fantastic.

You might not expect to find a restaurant like this tucked away in the Sunset district, but it’s definitely worth the visit. The crab served here is among the best you can find, and the garlic noodles complement it perfectly. It can get a bit busy and crowded, but none of that matters once you take your first bite.
