Bidra med feedbackVisited San Ginesio during lunch. Nothing was open that seemed ok. So asked if there was a restaurant. Went to the la cantina. A very simple establishment with great food. Meal was two or three choices per course. Had a lovely meal including house red wine and water. A really local experience as the clients were all local. Recommended.
I would like to say that a lunch at La Cantinella today was a great Italian dining experience ....but....it really wasn't very good at all. Food was cold, bland, and some dishes had been reheated. San Ginesio and other towns affected by the recent earthquakes need to think about their offer if they are to pick things up in the aftermath of the quake standard fare and an uninspiring dining experience needs to be reassessed.
If you want to eat in a real Italian Cantina with authentic Italian food, this is the place to be. Aspect bright lights, no choice in dishes but also super friendly staff, home cooking and very cheap real Italian food. Loved it. The food was only a bit to salty but this is a personal dillemma. The place is run by mother and dauther, who speak only Italian, but that's a charme. If you like real Italian food with no presentious this is the place to be.
