Bidra med feedbackWe've been here for years. They changed their menu, still tasted good. The old menu was also great. The part is really generous. We used to eat in Buca do Beppo in San Francisco, so we liked Bucas roasted Calamari. The bill was $260 for our party of 10 in SF Buca do Beppo once (in 2014, I believe) and no remains. As far as I remember, her menu didn't change. People may like it that way. In this SJ location we liked the previous menu and the new menu and have always left remains with their generous part. Our party of 9 was there last week and our bill was $159 including taxes. Happy to tip 20% because we don't have to cook the next day. These plates can easily hold at least 6-8lb.
Decent pasta in family-size portions. It's not going to win any awards for food or service, but it works well enough for very large parties. The decor certainly gives everyone something to look at and talk about.
Brussel sprouts w/ prosciutto $13) good. Chicken parmesan okay $25). Garlic cheese bread, sad $10). Portions pretty good. Price not a good value $48 before tax and tip). Overall, not recommended. Probably would be OK if it was priced ~20% less. Unfortunately, the lack of business will probably create a situation where service gets worse and prices rise. Don't know how they have survived so long...
On Sunday 7/22/18 we tried to have a good dinner with my family, unfortunately one person decided they would ruin it. I don't understand why they would think this is the appropriate thing to do because they are unhappy with their job. Waiters name is Matthew and as soon as he came to take our order we could tell he was not a happy person, he walked away before we were done with our order, poor service that we were willing to slide until we were serving ourselves and came across a pubic hair in one of our main dishes. This is NOT acceptable nor will I tolerate it. We will NEVER dine at this or any other location, this experience has impacted my view negatively on the whole Buca Di Beppo organization.
Pretty aweful experience. The air was raunchy and unbearable. The calimari was cold, didn't taste quite and its accompanying sauce was of the same descriptors. The bread was also hard. Service was slow to say the least, and mildly unfriendly. The whole staff seemed defeated from the beginning of the experience. I won't be visiting this location again.
