Bun Me Up - San Jose

My bad photos do not fair bun me up. I never had such rolls that were crispy, fluffy and warm. the shoyu bungalow was our favorite, but they offer three additional bungalows that are all home runs. the plastered veggies remind of those found in banh mi and offers a beautiful crispy texture for something that is expected to be soft. pork seems to be a perfect game with buns, as the braided blossom has to try another.

Been wanting to try this place since they opened 4 months ago but their weird hours and far location was difficult for us. We finally decided to try them on a Saturday (April 16). We ordered online and said it would be ready in 30 minutes. Drove down there and arrived 1 minute after the time our order was supposed to be ready and it was showing on their computer as delayed . No information was given for how delayed it would be (and there was no option it cancel the order). We ended up waiting *53 minutes* after our original pick up time for our order. So ridiculous. Guess they really don 't care about their customers ' time. The food wasn 't even good enough to warrant this type of awful service. The tofu bun tastes like a dry falafel, nothing like the normal tofu buns. Never returning again. Avoid this place at all costs! There are much better bun options available in San Jose and the Bay Area. This place is a complete joke. Tiny menu and they can 't even manage to get orders out remotely on time. The food hospitality industry does not seem like the right industry for these folks. The one redeeming thing about this failed experience was the tasty drinks, but that 's it. Too bad.

Updated review Bun Me Up was amazing the first time I had it. The meat was juicy, there was the right amount of sauce and it was available at great hours. A couple of things have changed. 1. The food quality has gone down. The 2nd time I ordered the food was too oily. Today whoever prepared it put too many fat chunks and barely any meat. 2. They changed their hours and aren't open for dinner anymore. Only lunch. 3. My order was delayed about 25 minutes today. Uber Eats said it was ready at 11:30am (opens at 11am) and I had to wait until 11:55am. Granted I showed up at 11:50am, so I only waited 5 minutes but it wasn't clear to me why Uber said it was ready and why the order was delayed considering I got there before 12. Overall I want to like this place, but they really need to improve on quality consistency.

Great Flavor, great prices. I always opt for the half a dozen mixed Bun combo. The Shoyu has the right amount of saltiness, and umami. The flavors are on point
