Irene's Mexican - San Juan

A friend brought me some caldo from this charming little restaurant, and I have to say, I absolutely loved it! With so many options available, the caldo here is definitely the best I've tasted. I decided to visit on my own last week, and it was incredibly delicious. I ordered the daily special — chicken tacos that were to die for! The salsa was fantastic as well. The owner is very friendly and welcoming. I will definitely be returning and highly recommending this place to all my friends and family.

The restaurant is clean and has a friendly atmosphere. There are plenty of options on the menu. I tried the menudo, and it was served hot and delicious.

In Southern Texas, where there’s an abundance of Mexican restaurants, the food here was surprisingly bland. I requested a roasted jalapeño but was served a small dish of canned, sliced jalapeños instead. Additionally, many of the dishes are priced a bit high at around $13 each, although they do come with two cans of soda. The chips and salsa were enjoyable, and I have to say the service was top-notch. The restaurant itself is very clean, and there’s actually more seating available inside than you might expect from the exterior.

I just started ordering from this restaurant and I must say this place has the best home cooked meals. This food is delicious. If you haven't tried it you must try it.

Very affordable, great food and excellent customer service. One of my favorite places to have coffee and breakfast with my mom and sister.
