Bidra med feedbackThree of my coworkers and I went here for lunch two weeks ago, and the food was amazing, the service was amazing (ask to be in seated in Blake’s section). He gave us mouthwatering recommendations, and the food was even better than he described. The atmosphere was great and the manager came over to make sure we had a great experience! Can’t say enough great things about them.
Highly delectable dinner within a short walking distance to the Hotel Effie. The garlic parmesan oysters were a huge hit, and the hush puppies had a hint of sweetness. The gumbo was decent, but it was missing a certain citric/savory balance. And as a southerner, I'd probably pass on the fried green tomatoes next time. They were just sliced so thick that they were a little chewy and wet on the inside. Although I had been super excited for the crab crusted grouper, I think I was thrown off by the texture that was not crispy. Instead, I fell in love with the Snapper Pontchartrain. Although the grouper is the signature dish, this was truly the highlight of the meal. I love the snapper so much that we traded entrees! But please save yourself a little bit of room for the white raspberry bread pudding. Your taste buds will thank you! And if you're lucky enough to get the server named Janet, you will revel in her wonderful personality and helpful nature.
It was very busy inside but they had outdoor dining available with patio heaters to help with the coolness during our visit. We ordered the chargrilled oysters with chorizo cream and smoked gouda, smoked cheddar bacon bombs, fried oyster basket, and a bowl of the seafood gumbo. The food was mouth watering and absolutely delicious. We would definitely come back to enjoy the relaxing atmosphere.
The best surprise of the weekend. We ran in here because the st. Paddys day performance was rained out. Everyone else did too. It was packed. But our server Fisher delivered. Grabbed orders as he was passing- brought us 3 app orders of the biggest oysters I’ve ever had. They were excellent. Raw, BBQ, and Parmesan garlic. The meals were even better. BBQ shrimp- $11 for this meal was a steal. Perfection. Outside of Nola- best I’ve had. The fried okra stole the show with the pork chop entree. The sweet potato mash has something magic hidden in it. All around the table happy- grits with scallops and gumbo was mild- not too spicy. ?
I love this little wharf that slick lips is located in. I wasn't extremely hungry, so I ordered the crab and fried green tomatoes and a side of cheese grits. Everything was delicious. These fried green tomatoes ranked in the top 5 for me. I've also heard the gumbo is wonderful. Definitely check them out if you are in the area.Food: 5/5
