Bidra med feedbackWe have had the pleasure of dining at Indian Traditional on a couple of occasions now - the service is always extremely welcoming and seating comfortable. Love the ambience of the restaurant with the streamed live modern india music playing in the background. The menu offers a selection of fresh, flavoursome vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes. Look for their week day evening $20 deals - great value entree, main and the very tasteful jeera rice.Look forward to many more dining experiences at Traditional India.
My wife and I went to Traditional India for our 26th wedding anniversary dinner. It was my wife's choice and she was looking to surprise me with an authentic taste of Indian food. I was not disappointed!! The food was amazing, we had a mixed entree to start, I had the Goan fish curry (a meal I just didn't want to end) and my wife had the Goat curry, which was also delish. Even the garlic naan was a revelation, as it was so light, compared with the ones we usually get from our local Indian restaurant. The service was excellent, the ambiance was lovely, the lady of the house stopped at every table for a chat and I enjoyed speaking with her about India. I am looking forward to our next meal there.....highly recommended!
I have tried various dishes from this restaurant and have been impressed with the flavours each time. The service is efficient and I have been impressed with the vegetarian selection.
Visited Traditional India last night, seemed quiet but warm welcome from Lady of the House. Food was the best Indian we have found in Qld. Onion Bhajis and homemade Samosas where the best. Had to wait a bit for the main, but staff did apologize.Top Place will definitely go back soon
Oh what a night out to savour.... Traditional India is our most favourite Indian restaurant in Queensland! So, yes, this trip advice is undoubtedly biased! But OMG the food is devine, and the lingering tastes in my mouth afterwards is a recurring reminder of a wonderful evening with my family. The ambiance of this restaurant is typical (slightly stereotyped commercialised) Indian restaurant style, the big screen TV playing Bollywood songs and movies our four year old son will jig to all night, and most of the next week reminiscing, the large painted scenes of Indian life activities, the heavy oversized and very comfortable chairs, and solid timber inlaid tables, all sitting on a soft heavy carpet. As soon as we enter the wafts of spice and mixed flavours softly hits you, and the sounds of a very busy kitchen is like a hive of bee's scurrying around clattering pots and pans as they cook up the evenings delights. Generally, whenever we visit a restaurant, will have one dish we are familiar with, accompanied by a couple of new to try, although here over the past years of visiting, we have pretty much eaten our way through the entire menu. We commenced the evening with mango lassi for me and our son; with a bowl of pappadam's, mango and mint chutney, whilst we decided what we would feast upon for the evening.....So, finally, after salivating over the entire menu for long enough to munch through a second serve of pappadam's, we settled on a starter of paneer tikka - a starter that would suit as a main serve as it also comes with a salad; then into the mains, a single server of rice with chicken tikka masala (my wife's absolute favourite!), dhal makhni (a mix of lentils and beans in a thick gravy you can almost stand a spoon up in), and matar paneer masala (a mix of onions, capsicum and paneer cheese in a tomato gravy), with a cheese and spinach naan..... but best of all, we had leftovers!! Which means I get to have dhal for my lunch! Yay! You can specify how spicy you want each dish, mild medium or hot; we typically have mild, which is hot enough but not too hot to spoil the flavour of the food. All the food is fresh, incredibly tasty and prepared efficiently in a reasonable time - even when they are packed out and have a stream of takeaway orders being collected. The kitchen is visible from the restaurant, and our son has often been invited in to meet with the chefs. Whist small, it is clean and tidy, and the chef's are well presented - and offer samples to taste of their simmering concoctions to a very excited wide eyed boy! Location is convenient, with loads of undercover parking very close by within the complex, it is also close to the train station (so has been a convenient stop on the way home from work on many occasions, with my wife meeting me there to take me home after)A throughly great evening, and I am now gagging for lunch time when I can dig into my leftovers! Lunch may be very early today.....
