We recently enjoyed a delightful dinner at the Lodge Bistro in Snowbird. Gorgeous view, attentive service, and excellent food. I had escargot in a lemon garlic and white wine sauce. Done perfectly. My main course was pan seared trout. Small portion but perfectly prepared. My daughter had the coc au vin. It was excellent. Generous portion with tender chicken in a bistro sauce that was delicious.
A companion on the airport shuttle kindly suggested to us that the Bistro is the best food at Snowbird. He was right. We ate there last night and could not possibly find one negative thing to say. Dan was an exceptional server, very knowledgeable about the menu and the wine list friendly too! The Croque Madame and Coq au Vin were both expertly prepared. Highest compliments to the chef.
We went on a Monday so it was quieter. Service was good, good food portions. Three of us had 2 apps, soup, 2 entrees. Mussels were excellent as was the charcuterie board for apps. Group was on the lighter side and the cow au vin was on the heavier side. Delicious martini too.
A few good things, but mostly bad about this spot in Snowbird. The mussels are fantastic, and paired with a salad is the perfect meal at this spot just across from the Snowbird Center. Now the bad. The gnocchi is awful. It's objectively too sweet with the apricot gastrique, the gnocchi are undercooked and underwhelming, and the base vegetables are under seasoned. 7 gnocchi and a ton of vegetables for $30+...give me a break. Highway robbery, even at resort prices. The service....ooph. We had the same waiter at Wildflower, and he was just as flippant and absent at that location. We ordered a cocktail before placing a food order, and told him we'd get a glass of wine with our main dish. Fast forward to our appetizers being complete, and immediately our mains are delivered before our dished had even been cleared. We Asked our busser if we could order wine and he said he'd get our waiter. 5 minutes later our waiter finally arrives. I order a Riesling, and he says they are out. A friend ordered a different cocktail...they are missing an ingredient. You have 4 white wines on the menu and variations of standard cocktails, it's a Friday night, and you don't have one of the wines/cocktail ingredients? WTF? I ordered a different wine. 10 minutes later the glasses finally arrive. This whole restaurant is badly mismanaged. The food is good if you avoid the gnocchi, but pray you get a more attentive waiter than we did, and that they happen to actually have ANY of the beverage options you choose.
