Franzl's Hutte am Zwolferhorn

We tried to leave the restaurant after looking at the menu, but weren't able to since they ordered us drinks without us knowing (!!!). They actually charge you for tap water - such a shame. Please avoid this place !!!!!!

Few steps from cable car but fairly flat and easy path to the restaurant which has a number of different rooms with a few tables with spectacular views over the lakes and mountains. I suspect it will generally be very busy but having got one of the tables with the view, we had excellent and quick service for our beers, best goulash soup and fresh roll. And a large piece of apricot cake. It might well be that if you order one of the main courses that there will be delays however really could not fault anything and for the top of a mountain, the prices were very reasonable.

Visited in February on a stunning day only stopped for a beer and hot chocolate but could have stayed all afternoon, prices same as St Gilgen considering they have a monopoly this was a surprise.worth the cable car fee just to sit with a beer(or two) and take in the view

It has a beautiful view: the valey and 2 lakes makes this place a top one. It is not far from Germany. To get there faster, you must take the telecabin: 23 euro for one person to there and back.

We visited this place twice while staying in St Gilgen. I can't believe how good the prices are given the location and spectacular views! The service is good and the menu has a good range of options. I recommend the donut with apricot jam - yum - and the hot chocolate.
