Rascal's - Santa Barbara

We arrived at 2:03, just after the restaurant's 2:00 closing time, and they declined to serve us. Finding parking was difficult, requiring a few laps around the block, which made us arrive late. Unfortunately, they lost a loyal vegan customer for life.

I tried this restaurant for the first time in town and used Happy Cow to find vegan options. This place definitely surpassed our expectations. It's hard to find vegan pancakes, so we decided to order them along with our meals. The tofu scramble bowl was excellent and the tacos were also fantastic. The oat milk horchata was delicious. Overall, a great experience!

I tried Rascals for the first time and it was excellent!! We visited for Mother's Day brunch. I definitely plan on trying all the other items on the menu in the future! I ordered the breakfast crunchwrap and breakfast sandwich, while my non-vegan child enjoyed the French toast and absolutely adored it! She was so stuffed that she couldn't even try one of their donuts, which was surprising! The oat milk horchata was also a hit.

It's easy to miss this place if you're driving by, but it's directly left of Ah Juice. Everything tasted great and fresh. Great vibe and attentive server. Highly recommend.

I loved the burrito I ordered, which was the chicharrón. It was flavorful, had the perfect texture, and the sauce really tied it all together. Many of the other bowls are good too! Their horchata is to die for. The main thing they may need to improve is considering whether most of their appetizers are shareable. The appetizers section on the menu is called “Para La Mesa” which implies that everyone at the table can have a serving. But all the appetizers are indivisible. Items such as a single tostada could be mini tostadas instead. And the elote corn cob could be served cut into several pieces. Lastly, I’d like to see less mock meats like Impossible and more vegetable-forward options. Overall good place but has a few things that could be improved
