Humble Sea Brewing Co. - Santa Cruz

Humble Sea offers delicious beers in a large indoor and outdoor space. The fish and chips food truck is also excellent. A perfect spot to enjoy a sunny afternoon.

Terrible service, bad beer. We felt the staff literally glaring at us when we walked up to order. The gal at the register didn’t even say hi, didn’t ask if we had any questions, and when we asked to have some small sample tastes to decide which beer we wanted she seemed annoyed and was super rude about it. Aside from the terrible service, I was then charged for a pint when I only ordered a 5oz. I went back up when I realized and they said they would delete the charge, but I now see that they did not and I was charged the full amount plus tip. And on top of all of this, their beer sucks. Every one I sampled tasted the same, we should have just left but got one beer each anyway. They didn’t have any variety of brews really they were all light and all tasted hoppy except the disgusting pineapple coconut milkshake which tasted like a bad pina colada. I definitely won’t go back here. The only positive is their deck in the sun. Not worth supporting or buying any beer though. The brewery around the corner is 100x better, kinder staff and better beer. And they had live music and felt way more welcoming. Don’t go to Humble Sea. Worst brewery I’ve been to.

Great brewery in Santa Cruz, we’ve been coming here on summer weekends after hiking. It’s very pet friendly.I love the variety of their beers the menu changes very frequently so I usually try the new additions.They do have empanadas and there’s a food truck near by, which serves great fish and chips.

This charming brewery, which is pet-friendly, serves some of the most delicious and tastiest hazy beers in town. It is worth the trip from the South Bay to visit this spot every time. It can get crowded, so be patient or arrive early. Different food trucks visit on various nights, so keep an eye out for them. I have been unable to find a super tangy, sharp, crisp sour ale as good as the Rare Barrel discontinued under new management, but the Mirage Atlas Sour at this brewery is incredibly delicious. It is a sharp, crisp, lip-puckering beer that is my favorite so far from Humble Sea Brewery. It is difficult to slowly sip and savor the flavor of this beer because it is so tasty.

Update: They have recently opened their 'Seacret' Garden, providing more seating and more beer options.
