Bud's Deli - Santa Monica

I work in the area and eat out regularly—Bud’s breakfast items are both excellent and a value. In particular, the Spanish omelette is outstanding. Also, the long-time owner has taken my order every time and is kind and accommodating. This is spot is an under appreciated neighborhood gem.

Every time I go in there I am treated like a local, which I am. At Bud's Deli you get the friendly neighborhood service you would expect when you go to a place like that. And I always see a familiar face. I haven't tried everything on the menu but I have my favorites, the Italian sub and the Gary Burger. That's all I ever get and they are both the bomb!

Little shitholes like this always have the best food. I'll be coming back for sure. I hope they don't change anything.

Found this gem back in August and haven 't been able to last a single week without Buds Deli! Although I 'm still working my way through the full menu; the Italian sub, Tri-Tip sandwich, fresh pastries, and Jaclyn 's grapefruit salad, are a few among my Everyone Must Try list! Tomorrow I can 't wait to try the breakfast burrito that one of their frequent customers were raving about when I came in!Aside from the delicious food, I must admit that part of my obsession with this deli is due to the genuine excitement I see from the owner, Gary. He 's always so eager to personally greet his guests and loves to tell me about the new recipes he 's currently working on.Overall, this place scores a 10/10 for me--great quality, perfect portion sizes, reasonable prices, and great service.

My friend asked about the rustic chicken sandwich on a sourdough roll and the guy just said no it in French bread, although my Italian sub came on a sourdough roll. He paid for our food and he charged me for a meal instead of just the sandwich. When I asked, he pointed to a little scratched sign on the counter that says cash and card prices vary. Trash and the food was a joke. Not worth $17 for something you can do at home.
