Bidra med feedbackGoaaaaaa.... here I come...!!!!! One of the beauties of being in Goa is that there are plenty of small eateries everywhere offering authentic -read HOME MADE Goan Fish Curry Rice other typical dishes .......no matter which part of Goa you are exploring. You just drive into any one of the small decrepit restaurants sit down on one of the plastic table/chairs experience Goa! AND.... believe me..... that is the best way to know Goa! You DO NOT eat at 5 Star properties when in Goa. Woods Inn in Porvorim is one such restaurant. It changed hands recently is now managed by Anandashram( another old famous restaurant of Goa) however the food is still as good yummmmmmy!!! One can google the place. Plenty of parking available! BEWARE comfort lovers...... NO Air Conditioning, wash basin/toilet area NOT so clean. But who cares...... FOOD IS TO DIE FOR...... A MUST DO when in North Goa. Unpretentious, simple plastic chairs tables spread out under an asbestos roof.....soft spoken smiling boys/men taking your orders serving you delicious food. DO NOT go by the menu...... ask the waiter for recommendations..... Their Smoked Prawns are famous and so is their special fish curry- it is finger licking!!! Fried chonak too is simply delicious! For dessert- try their Seradurra!! Once you eat there, you WILL want to go back again again again just like we do!
This is my second review on Woods Inn..I was very impressed with its Thali rate against their quality and quantity. I recently visited Woods Inn one week before...during lunch time and was surprised that there were hardly any tables occupied..Then I got to understand that it is now run by Anandashram... I got second shock when I got the menu with Thali Fish as well as Veg @150/ against earlier price of Rs. 120/ . This thali was non descript and no where close to the Thali offered earlier. Please visit at your own risk..It is now too expensive for the price...
A lot of my friends call this restaurant their second home. So whenever they need good fish curry and rice with fried fish, this is the place they land up at. While for me, this may not be the only place, but it does serve good food. A very good eating place with specialises in Goan food. A must visit.
Slow service. dishes is not serve as per menu details. mega fish thali is not worth, better to have normal thali
Love the 16 piece fish thali they serve on Wednesday and Friday afternoons here. There is a whole variety of fish and seafood and very few veg items, definitely worth more than 350 which is the going rate. Must try for some old golden forgotten Goan recipes!
