Bidra med feedbackStopped by during early afternoon on a Friday in late May 2023. There was no queue and the staff were friendly but had limited English. We had Bola de Berlim and a chocolate Bolo de Arroz which cost less than 2 euro. Both were really good, but we had tried better pastries elsewhere in our week in Madeira so I can't quite justify 5 stars.
We came to this cafe late in the day after a Levada walk. It was full of local Madeirans enjoying cake, coffee and teas; we were made welcome and had friendly and excellent service. There is a wide selection of pastries, cakes, savouries and snacks as well as very good fresh coffee. The quality of all we had was excellent and at prices which are much less than half those charged in Funchal especially good chocolate cake, mille fueille and an interesting cake with cheese and coconut inside. Recommended as a good morning or afternoon stop if you are on a day out or staying in Sao Vicente
We picked this place for lunch, and left very happy with our choice. It is a nice restaurant, and patisserie, with lots of delectable choices for both areas. We had a nice meal and took out the next days breakfast. The staff spoke very little English (this is a local spot), but they made sure that it is not required with translated menus for some of it, and a point and click method for everything else. They were extremely nice, and hospitable, and we ate outside to listen to the ocean while eating.
This large bakery is the favourite hang out place for locals and tourists alike . It serves good and cheap snacks, cakes , sandwiches and the like . Apart from coffee and tea you can get beer and sodas . Great for a cheap and filling lunch, dinner or snacks
Typical Portuguese bakery outlet with products to take home or enjoy with a coffee or beer. Plenty local workers and a few others like us visitors. Nicely surprised with great cup of coffee and delicious sandwiches. The four of us sharing bites. Would go again and recommend it highly.
