Fresh Basil Cafe - Saugatuck

We had two large pizzas for take out and they were very good. The service was fast and the full menu looked delicious

The Panini I had was nothing less amazing. Fresh mozzarella and spinach, sun-dried tomatoes, ham, sharp bread... Hmmmm. The service was something on the slow side, but it was worth waiting.

Delicious and fresh food, extensive menu, and very friendly and helpful staff! Everything I have tried here has been fantastic! A great tip is that they accommodate food limitations. The gyro meat was especially delicious!

My husband and I and our 2 children came for dinner and although the menu looks healthy and good options, the QUALITY is EXTREMELY LOW! The chicken was like rubber pieces and in any case microwave, not cooked on a stove or grill. Texture didn't even look like chickens. Just like the salmon - very fishy, texture didn't even look like salmon, and seemed to be cooked in a microwave - maybe so that they get food so quickly. Quinoa was not edible. We took a few bites, and all of them threw away our food. The next morning, 3 OUT of 4 of us were with STOMACH PAINS. No safe place to eat and I knew it during dinner so we threw it away. The owner even asked me when I went in to throw away food as our meal was and I was nice and hesitant telling her? actually not good? and explains our experience. She just said? I like it.? My husband and I are owners in the food industry and we would do everything we could to leave our customers as satisfied as possible - they are definitely not interested. SECURITY AND NOT HERE.

I drove all the way from St. Joseph to meet my daughter from Grand Rapids at 4pm, only to find out that the restaurant was closed. Luckily, the Boardwalk Café next door was open and the food was fantastic! I will definitely be returning to the Boardwalk for my next visit to Saugatuck!
