Bidra med feedbackHeard so many good things about this place. Finally got to check it out today. Tried Somalian food for the first time and I must say I really liked it. My friend got the steak which was flavourful but quite dry. I got the chicken stew with rice and it was so good. The spice level was perfect and the chicken was so seasoned very well. All the time items come with warm soup (daal) and fresh mango juice. Brought back memories of my childhood for sure. I’ll definitely come back with family and looking forward to try their lamb dishes next time.
The best Somali food you can have in Toronto. In fact, the best comfort food you can enjoy. This is African soul food and it has a great home cooked taste to it as well. Service is always great and friendly and it’s a good spot to go with family as well. Thanks for always putting a smile on our face :
When I visited this place 3 years ago the food was ok. Today I was in the area with my family and I wanted them to try it. The quality of the food was not very good. The steak and chicken were paper thin. The lentil soup has no taste of lentil at all. The juice has lots of water and sugar added to it, I couldn't even tell what was the flavor. When I asked the waiter why the lentil soup has no lentils, she just turned her back and walked away without saying a word. I will not go there any more for sure.
Felt like taking it back to Africa, East Africa that is with this nice Somalian restaurant . Waitresses were very friendly and recommended the Goat meal (comes with plantain soup and juice). I also felt like trying the Somali Milk cake for dessert and thank God I did. The cake was delicious and not too sweet either. Large food portions, had to take a bit of my dinner to go which was good. I would love to come back here.
Usually this is a very good restaurant and I find many people either dine in or take out. The reason I’m giving a 2-star is because of the bad experience my dad had last weekend. He went to dine in and had asked for rice or anything to eat which has less sodium since he is a hypertension patient. Whoever served him on that day, has said their rice is quite less in sodium but the meat items all have high salt levels. The server finally upon my dad’s approval served him a box of rice with only salad and NO MEAT
