1881 At Wrea Head Hall - Scarborough

My wife and I only stayed at Wrea Head for one night, unfortunately. We had visited the hotel about 15 years ago, but had not returned due to the outdated appearance and mediocre food at the restaurant. However, we heard that the hotel had new owners and management, so we decided to give it another chance. We are so glad we did. As we drove up to the hotel, we noticed the beautifully maintained grounds and ample parking. Despite the Covid 19 restrictions, we were warmly welcomed and shown to our room (16). The hotel's decor had greatly improved since our last visit, with a fresh and tasteful design. Our room was spacious with a huge and comfortable bed, and the bathroom featured a slipper bath and separate shower, adding to our comfort. We enjoyed a delicious dinner at the restaurant and the breakfast the next morning was also top-notch. Checking out was a breeze, followed by a lovely stroll along Scarborough beach. Thank you to Kevin and his team for a wonderful stay, and to the kitchen staff for the fantastic meals. We look forward to visiting again soon.

Our room was clean but needed some minor adjustments - such as dusting the ornate mirror and improving the mattress quality. We requested extra pillows and they were promptly provided. Although there were a few small issues like a loose shower handle, overall our stay was enjoyable and we plan to return. The highlight of our stay was the incredible food at the hotel restaurant. Both dinners were exceptional, with generous portions and delicious flavors. Breakfast was also satisfying and reasonably priced. The drink prices were fair, with £5 for a lager, £4.50 for a Bombay Sapphire gin, and £1.95 for tonic. Overall, we highly recommend this hotel to everyone. The service was exceptional and we were treated like royalty. We look forward to returning in the near future.

Upon arriving at the hotel, we had pre-ordered our meal and waited in the bar. When our turn came, we were served delicious food by friendly staff all wearing personal protective equipment (PPE). We always have a great dining experience here. Check out our photos for more details.

I have not visited but have been recomended it by friends so its just a matter of time before we pay a visit.

Fabulous overnight stay. Booked an overnight dinner bed and breakfast package. The hotel have adapted their delivery to ensure they are Covid friendly and they executed the delivery well, allowing you to feel safe and still have a relaxing stay.Dinner was absolutely gorgeous... I couldn’t fault it at all. Breakfast was equally as nice.Very pleasant and polite staff... we definitely plan to return.
