Newcastle Packet Inn - Scarborough

This restaurant is a perfect spot for enjoying yourself in the afternoon or evening. The staff is extremely friendly and accommodating, making us feel very welcome.

This pub in Scarborough is the worst. The bar staff are incredibly ignorant and arrogant. I waited 15 minutes without being served and eventually had to leave. The staff repeatedly overlooked me in favor of serving regulars and other customers who arrived after me. They all need to be retrained. I would rate it 0 out of 10 and will not be returning or recommending it to anyone.

I have to say we had a great night here on Thursday on a short stay to Scarborough. A very friendly atmosphere. Good pints of beer and Pool for a pound a game. Stayed for about 4 hours and had a right good laff. A proper pub with a good vibe, good music, and good beer.. so that's great... right? Well.. The place could do with a bit of a clean on the tables and I'm afraid the Gents toilets stank to high heaven.. Such a shame really when we we're all having such fun but.. Yeah.. The landlady was friendly and welcoming but instead of just chatting to the folks in the bar could you please pay them loo's some attention and grab a mop and bleach from time to time!

A large pub set back from the sea front, the packet has been there years but is starting to look a little run down now, both outside and in. There are plenty of places to sit but the furnishings are not in the best condition. The drinks selection is not the best either.

I'd like to start this review by saying a big thank you to Pete the doorman for being so professional and helpful last night after a really upsetting experience in the bar we entered before which was the Nelson where the doorstaff were very rude to us. Thank you Pete for helping is with my friends walker and assisting her into the bar and to a seat so she could enjoy what was to be one of the best nights in years. The staff were great so friendly the atmosphere was brilliant. Drinks were fab and we enjoyed a sing song too. Thank you to.pete for being the kind person you are and all the staff in the Newcastle you guys are all awsome.
