Racist and rude. Bit section of the shop selling gollyw dolls with signs in that particular corner saying no photography so they know it’s wrong. Only saw this after purchasing something otherwise I wouldn’t have given them a penny. Woman behind the counter was also being very rude to the gentleman in front when he asked how long the wait was for a coffee. Disgraceful.
Stopped here for drinks a bite to eat as to be honest there was nothing else around. 2 teas and a coffee, 2 scones with jam cream and a ham panini. The place was freezing cold due to the doors being propped open. No parking except for a charge of £3.50 in the field across the road so an expensive stop (not blaming the car park landowner a captive market). And amazed that there were no toilets in the place despite food and drink being served I 'm no expert but as I understood it then if you have 10+ seats it 's a legal requirement and there are certainly more than 10 seats in the place. Add on that it 's certainly not cheap in here and service was lacklustre to say the least. 1 star but have had to go with 2 to be fair as my ham panini was very substantial with 'proper ' ham as opposed to the thinly sliced stuff you get elsewhere.
I was appalled to discover a corner of the shop full of Gollyw merchandise for sale. I asked the person at the counter Why are you selling Gollyw ? and was told That 's not what they are which is an absurd response. I then said But they 're incredibly racist and the reply was That 's your interpretation. That particular corner of the shop has signs saying strictly no photography so they know it 's shameful. Totally disgusting. This is why my black and brown friends don 't feel safe holidaying in the countryside.
Nice place, very helpful and friendly staff, and the coffee was great! Lots of lovely cakes and savouries available too. A must visit if you’re in the area.
