Herzberg's Restaurant - Scharbeutz

On the first Christmas day at 12 noon, the Herzberg restaurant was so well visited that reservations were accepted only at certain times. On this day a Christmas menu was offered, which not only reads interesting, but also tasted very well: “Feine Rahmsuppe by Topinambur with truffle butter and goose breast strips Oldenburger Gänsebraten knusprig from the oven with Balsamico – cherry sauce, marzipan – winter apple, nickel and walnuts The only criticism of the main dish was that the geese was served with a small sauce. The centrally located restaurant is conservatively furnished and has something narrow for my taste. The team is fast and attentive, regular guests are still welcomed. I think the prices are reasonable for the services offered, the menu for 39,90€ and the open wine for 5,90€. The fact that the Herzberg restaurant has been mentioned for years in at least one very established restaurant guide is certainly appropriate.

I got the fresh caught special of the day, delicious. It came with two scallops, perfectly seasoned and beautifully browned and a large shrimp. My son had tender pork strips in a brown sauce.It was a lovely meal for both of us andwe will return.

We stumbled across this restaurant while on a trip out from our base in Kappelan and ended up having the best meal of the holiday. The owner 's son was extremely helpful, providing a translated menu for us Brits and rather than up sell, actually told...us that one of the chosen started was enough for two! The fish soup was to die for and the main courses excellent. Service was very good, attentive and not pushy. Cannot fault this restaurant

Scharbeutz is a lovely seaside town frequented almost exclusively by German tourists. The meal I had was from their luncheon specials menu and was so delicious! I asked for potatoes to be substituted for vegetables, and the grilled chicken breast, salad and mixed vegetables were...mouth watering! I sat outside and was made to feel very welcome alone at my table for four, and service was very attentive without being invasive. I had a wonderful and very reasonably priced glass of wine as well from an extensive wine menu. The inside of the restaurant was gorgeous, too. Very highly recommended!!!
