Bidra med feedbackWe stayed two nights and found Hyatt Regency still retained its elegance despite missing pool and works . It was very quite , eerily in fact but they still kept the grounds impeccable. We had breakfast and it was excellent, I questioned server if fresh orange juice was ‘fresh orange juice’ he replied for the most part they grow their own ingredients at their own farm and orange juice was squeezed at their farm. Even with the work’s continuing I would recommend this elegant hotel if swimming pool is not critical to your stay. They have lowered their rates too to reflect missing service , Resort fee can be questioned.
Anniversary vacation cut short, because no one from the hotel or booking company told us about the reservations (pool, restaurant, etc) all closed. We ended up going to another resort with the Hilton, to finish up our anniversary.
I was not believing what I read on the Hyatt app and had to see it for myself and indeed as of 5 June 2023 to the end of the year the pools are closed. The courtyard area was off limits and there were no valets. We only saw the front desk crew during our short visit. I did see a ladder in the pool complex. On the Hyatt app, restaurants like Alto, Noh and H2Oasis are no longer listed, and the Center Stage Bar and the Canyon Market are listed as closed for the 2023 Summer. (The two open remaining restaurants are SWB and Cantina Due . Looking at the bright side, the pool complex is sure to be much improved in 2024 with over a half a year to upgrade. The restaurant line up seems to be a work in progress so there could be some exciting newness there. We hope that the Hyatt Gainey will have some life after the 2023 summer when the Center Stage Bar is back. (Maybe entertainment too. And guest can get their coffees and snacks at the Canyon Market. In the meantime, the Hyatt Gainey will be a quieter simpler place.
We have visited Gainey Ranch numerous times through the years. This was a poor experience for us. The spa was still in good shape, although could use some updating. But the hotel was sub-par, and the staff was about half the number it has been in the past. The entertainment was Sun-par. The pool area was weathered, and not being told ahead of time that the dining options were cut down was disappointing. Also, no water featured running was disappointing. Sure hope the new renovations will make the experience better in the future. Very disappointed this time, especially paying full price!
Hyatt Regency at Scottsdale Resort and Spa at Gainey Ranch, is a beautiful facility, very well maintained, and staff is awesome. I would recommend this for any occasion, we were attending a wedding and the preparations were on point.
