Rockafellas By The Sea

Long wait no matter the day or time. Great friendly staff. Beautiful decor. Salads and bread for all. Meals were ok, definitely had better in prior years. Very large portions.

We used to visit Rockafellas every year before the pandemic and always enjoyed a good meal. However, last night we were all disappointed with the food. The meatballs were dry, the eggplant Parmesan did not taste good, and the swordfish special with risotto was bland. We had to add salt to it, and it cost $46. We're not sure if it was just an off night in the kitchen or if they are using cheaper ingredients. Maybe we will give it another chance next time we are in the area.

Not worth the wait. Red sauce is bland and tastes like it just came out of the can. Meatballs are also bland. Linguini with clams in red sauce was like chowder since the sauce wasn't very thick. Upcharge for not having cash is ridiculous. It's 2022! No one uses cash anymore. Get with the times! Also, BYOB. Staff was great, however.

I have been coming to this restaurant since I was a child, but tonight's experience was exceptional. The fish dishes were absolutely phenomenal. The dining area is great, although it was a bit warm for indoor seating. The Salmon dishes we ordered were some of the best I have ever had, and the portion sizes were a huge added bonus. I am surprised it took me this long to write a review. I will definitely continue to support them.

Wow. The appetizers here are very generous in size. The entree portions are huge and the desserts are delicious. Make sure to add this restaurant to your itinerary when exploring the Jersey shore.
