Bidra med feedbackMy group dined indoors, and I must say the hostess was very friendly. The portion sizes were generous. However, I felt that the sashimi plate could have been better. The octopus was quite different from the typical sashimi I've encountered. On the other hand, the yakisoba was excellent.
We stopped for dinner on a Monday night and found it to be a lovely choice. The staff was friendly, promptly taking our orders and bringing us the green tea we had requested. I ordered the Teriyaki chicken and the Tempura bowl. The starter soup we received—though the wrong one—was quite delicious. The presentation of the bento box was appealing, and both the taste and temperature of the food were just right. The Tempura coating was a bit lighter than I’m used to, but it was still very good. The chicken was well-cooked and generously drizzled with Teriyaki sauce. I hadn't been to this restaurant in many years, and I was pleased to find that the meal was just as good as I remembered. If you're in the mood for Japanese cuisine, this place is definitely worth a visit!
**Food:** 4 **Service:** 5 **Atmosphere:** 5 Overall, the food was mostly excellent, although it leaned a bit towards blandness. The dashi and tentsuyu could use a little boost of umami. The chicken teriyaki was just right—not overly sweet—and perfectly cooked, with a beautiful sear from the spiced grill. I also appreciate the salad dressing here; it's easier to enjoy than what I've found at other places. The tempura was lightly battered, allowing the fresh vegetables to shine through instead of being overwhelmed by batter; the ratio was closer to 75% veggies and 25% batter, which was ideal for flavor. The only downside was my wife’s dish, which included cuts of tonkatsu that had some sections with tough, tendon-like textures. **Pros:** The portion sizes for the price are remarkable, far exceeding what you’d find at many other establishments. It offers fantastic value. I also liked that their menu isn’t cluttered with fusion options that make it overly complicated; it primarily features simple and traditional Japanese dishes presented on a single two-sided sheet, along with a few additional traditional Asian options. The sushi chef, who may be the owner (I didn’t ask), was an excellent host, providing welcoming and professional service. The atmosphere at the bar is quite relaxing. You can come in, enjoy your meal, unwind or chat, and leave feeling completely satisfied!
In this locally owned gem there remained five years back on a business trip. Freshest fish, great presentation, reasonable prices and friendly quick service keeps me coming back every time I get to the city. No BS rolls with tons of random garbage. Traditional Japanese like me. Very recommended.
Delicious food! Great sushi fish. In fact one of the best. And huge portions for the other stuff.... Note it's not the most designed out place.. Just great food and very high Vlue. Very highly recommended.
