Second time at this neighborhood restaurant. I'd seen the negative reviews before going the first time but the group I was with all enjoyed their meal. This time more mixed results. I found myself agreeing with prior complaints about the paltry portions of protein in the tacos. I am surprised those complaints haven't been taken to heart by the restaurant--it wouldn't be that heavy a lift to throw a few more chunks of chicken into the mix of onion and cabbage. One of our party was surprised by the amount of heat in her rockfish ceviche and thought it might be worthy of a mention on the menu. Ince she located the peppers in the dish she simply chose not to eat all of them and had a better experience. In the other hand my husband thoroughly enjoyed his tamales and we all enjoyed the chips and guac.
Fun neighborhood restaurant with really good food. Service was great and food served quickly. The kids especially enjoyed the house made tortilla chips!
We four neighbors visited here for first time. We are passionate about Latin food and we lived in Peru. This was all good with one exception. The rockfish ceviche was awful. The fish pieces had marinated in the lime juice so long they were rubbery and tasteless. They were tossed with finely chopped jalapeno that also had marinated too long and all I could taste is diced jalapeno in lime juice. Yuck. There is no excuse for this waste. Rockfish needs only about minutes to marinate enough in lime juice. A pinch of chopped peppers. A decent Leche de Tigre recipe can be found on line in about seconds. I don't recommend you buy any of the ceviche until you read good reviews of it. Otherwise, the food and service were quite good.
Fabulous food, great service, friendly vibe. Great mix of customers
