Cortina - Seattle

The experience wasn't terrible, but it certainly wasn't great either. Given the price, I expected a much better overall experience. There are plenty of better pasta places to explore in Seattle. The atmosphere felt quite ordinary as well. Each time my dining companion and I needed something, we had to flag down our waitress, although she was friendly, which made it a bit more bearable. As for the food, it was just average. I probably won't be coming back.

I went to Cortina with friends on a Tuesday night without a reservation and we were seated fairly quickly. To our delight, it turned out to be restaurant week, and Cortina was participating. I ordered the steak tartare, sourdough (which had a small extra charge), and a pasta dish that had a nice kick to it. We also shared a dessert. A friend chose an incredibly good wine to complement our meal. In total, it was only $60 per person, which is quite reasonable for downtown Seattle, in my opinion. Overall, we had a fantastic experience. Thank you!

I had a wonderful experience at Cortina. I tried the summer sangria, which was white; I would have preferred a red one, but I didn't ask before placing my order. I also ordered an old fashioned drink. My dish was a bit overly salted, although the others I tasted didn't have the same issue, so I'm not sure what happened there. Despite that, I would definitely return. The service was excellent, and the ambiance was delightful.

Chef Roger is a leader within the Seattle food scene. His creations are a must try, The front of the house could not be more pleasant catering to each customer individually with timely service. They have always gone above and beyond.

Not that it was bad just not that it was good. For the cost I would expect an excellent experience. Plenty of better pasta restaurants in Seattle to try first. Atmosphere was pretty basic also. Every time we wanted something (party of 2) we had to flag our waitress down to ask. She was friendly though so it wasn?t that big of a deal. Food wise though, par. Most likely won?t be returning.
