French Quarter Kitchen - Seattle

My partner and I recently went on a date night to this restaurant for the first time, and we had a wonderful experience. The staff was very friendly and welcomed us as soon as we walked in. Since we had never tried absinthe before, our server, Shannon, gave us a quick tutorial on it. Following her recommendation, we decided to go with the Nouvelle Orleans. We ordered the fried catfish and shrimp and grits, and the portion sizes were generous. The flavors were incredible! While it isn't exactly diet-friendly, it was definitely worth the calories. The use of the vintage absinthe fountain to prepare our drinks added to the overall experience. We will certainly be returning and will recommend this place to our family and friends!

The cocktails and bar were outstanding. The service was exceptional, and when my partner encountered an issue with her drink, our server promptly resolved it. While the interior outside the bar wasn't as beautiful or well-maintained as I would have preferred, the food was so spectacular that it was hardly a concern. To access the restroom, you do have to walk down a somewhat dazzling corridor, but I don’t believe the absinthe had any effect on that experience.

Interestingly, it appeared that I was one of the few who actually ordered it. We also ordered red beans and rice with a side of andouille, but they seemed overcooked and lacked the authentic Cajun flavors we were hoping for. The andouille was just a few slices that had been lightly grilled—maybe it was a milder variety, it was hard to say. We also tried the crawfish pasta, which contained tiny pieces of crawfish and the same andouille; however, the sauce was more like a cheesy gravy than what we expected. It did have some flavor and tasted decent, but it was a lot heavier than described. There were a few other menu items that sounded appealing, but unfortunately, we are unlikely to return. We love Cajun and Creole food, and I have a fondness for absinthe, but we will keep looking elsewhere.

I love the menus and the variety of cajun, creole, and southern food. We had the brunch on Sunday and definitely will come back for dinner and happy hour! Didn't try absinthe yet, so that is for a future visit as well! Our server was prompt and gracious, the food came quickly and was delicious!

We had a fabulous brunch for a group of 7 on a Sunday morning. The food was really delicious and several of the group had **** Marys, which they proclaimed to be the best BM they 'd ever had! Even came with a pickled string bean for stirring! I had a wonderful veggie eggs benedict and the potatoes that came with the eggs were really tasty! Along with a huge pot of French pressed coffee, this was a really delicious meal for each of us. And the friendly and attentive service made us confident that this restaurant is serious about their customers. Highly recommended!
