The value for money is not there. A risotto with red mullet, more like sticky rice without flavor and grilled fish. Calf sweetbreads not cleaned of their skins and cooked rare, I'm not a fan. Same for kidneys. The menus lack balance from one day to the next... either too light or too heavy. One day it's soup, red mullet risotto and brioche, the next day it's Gea liver crème brûlée, kidney sweetbreads and coconut cake. Personally I find the cooking below the place and the names of the dishes.
Very beautiful room, in a very medieval setting, it's really beautiful, the service with the waiters in uniform, etc., is perfect. Unfortunately, I agree with many other comments on the quality of the dishes coming out of the kitchen... We expect a lot with this menu, this room, this service and this promise of a gourmet dish made by a chef... Unfortunately taste-wise, it's very average... to describe my dissatisfaction: overcooked salmon, hard and tasteless reconstituted potato, hard carrots, tasteless lamb shank, starter (mimosa-style quail egg) also tasteless , poorly balanced dessert in terms of acidity and sugar... A disappointment and total incomprehension because everything else is perfect except... the main thing, the taste (some good little restaurants in the region produce dishes that are far superior in terms of taste). I'm sorry to say that but the dishes are very lacking of mastery, except if the chef takes out his dishes, it is because he considers them to be perfect in every way... Perhaps we should see a restaurant menu a range below but better controlled. The prices are correct for the half-board options, for the à la carte dishes... considering the mastery of the kitchen it is a little expensive. That said the dishes are very beautiful, nothing to say about the presentation, it's superb, a big effort on the taste and it will be perfect! I still recommend the restaurant, hoping that my comment will be taken into account by the chef.
Nous avons été déçus par le déjeuner pris au restaurant du château de Sedan en famille le 30 décembre. Prestation qui n'avait rien à voir avec celle.s que nous avions appréciée.s quelque temps auparavant. Serveur qui fait des tâches d'emblée sur la nappe en versant le vin dans les verres, la viande de la langue de bœuf était dure, immangeable ??, la présentation redondante entre 2 plats (utilisation des graines germées)... Nous n'avons pas compris comment le monument préféré des français parait-il pouvait aussi peu soigner sa clientèle d'autant plus en pleine période de fêtes de fin d'année. Je ne fais jamais de tel commentaire mais là étant ardennaise d'origine et en visite à mes parents âgés, je trouve fort dommage que les Ardennes donnent une telle image qui va encore les discréditer. Vous avez une responsabilité à cet endroit. Pensez-y ! Que s'est-il passé au château de Sedan pour en être arrivé là ? Je crois que nous ne sommes pas prêts de revenir ni de vous recommander. Quelle tristesse !
