Bidra med feedbackTwo weeks before our vacation I decided to surprise my wife with an elegant dinner in Sedona. I called and asked for a reservation for the 12th at 7:45. When I received my confirmation I didn 't look to see it was made for the 5th. And I did not realize this until I was showing the hostest my reservation screen shot. As my heart began to sink I heard, Not to worry mistakes happen and if you can wait 30 minutes I 'll be able to seat you . I love great customer service. As we were seated by the creek, my wife was amazed by the ambiance, elegance, and beauty of the Cress on Oak Creek. I had the steak and she had the sea bass that were amazing. Plus, and our server was top notch. The experience and the look on my wifes face was well worth the price. Thank you for turning a possible flop of an evening into a wonderful evening. We are already planning our return to Sedona and another trip to Cress On Oak Creek. KEVIN D BORN Beaumont, TX
Extremely over priced for the level of quality. Salads were excellent; sea bass was best I’ve ever had but my wife’s steak was horrible. She left 1/2 on the plate and no to go box! I tasted it and have had better steaks at Waffle House. Two salads, two entrees no alcoholic drinks or dessert and bill with 15% tip was $300.00.
Ambiance is lovely but the food leaves much to be desired. Very limited menu with low to average dishes.
Absolutely horrible. Food was mediocre at best and way too overpriced. They require valets, so expect to pay more since self parking was removed. They should be ashamed of what they consider luxury and fire their management. Bugs were a constant issue in the wine and cocktails, and I gave up on asking for new drinks. There was a shoe in the Creek right beside where we ate. I really regret every penny we spent here.
What happened to this spectacular restaurant? Cress on Oak Creek has been a staple in my business trips to Sedona with colleagues. Since May 2022, the restaurant and resort has taken a downward spiral. Parking: The new Director , according to the valet, is to blame for their removal of free self parking. The penny gouging starts once you leave the car. Enter the main lobby and hotel check-in, it 's clear the restaurant and hotel are short staffed and manners have been lost. Restaurant: The atmosphere at this restaurant is the best in Sedona. A peaceful and intimate location where you should* expect everyone to be respectful and polite (guests included). It seems their dress code, which added to their intimate atmosphere, is no longer existent. We were blown away at guests wearing Just Do It Nike T-shirt to dinner, and guests walking by our table in swim trunks and rafts (we sat down at 7pm (prime sunset). Table cloths were not ironed, which goes to show they are missing the most simple aspects to fine dining. It 's the little things that demonstrate an attention to detail, that we all want in an expensive fine dining experience. In 2022, you could expect a cocktail to dance in your mouth, opening you to new, one of a kind, flavors. The meals used to demonstrate culinary masterpieces. Today, I am deeply saddened that they have lost their touch here as well. I have no issue paying high prices for fine dining, but I feel regret in getting taken advantage of when they don 't follow through to the standards of fine dining. For instance, the ribeye lacked proper trimming and they did not provide adequate potatoes to explore the flavors. Servers/hosts: The man who seated us, clearly needed deodorant and I kept getting his body odor when he was walking by, (at least 10 feet away), due to the breeze. I found it unusual how quickly they took my dessert plate. I had finished my bite of their apple tart, and within half a second of putting my fork down, they asked to take my plate. This shouldn 't feel rushed, it should feel smooth, and they should understand body language and when the most polite time is to remove the plate. Overall, I will not be returning again. This is no longer fine dining, and the resort needs to be strict if they ever want to be seen as 5 stars. Hell, even fix your fly problem which was never an issue before. To those romantic couples trying to make a night memorable, I 'd recommend Different Point of View in Phoenix. Don 't let Cress on Oak Street ruin your intimacy.
