Riverside Grill - Selkirk

We were going to come here for lunch but there was a sign on the door that said Closed. It didn't say closed for Tues or Weds but Closed. I ask someone if Riverside Grill is permanently closed and they said yes. It didn't make it through Covid. This is too bad since the resaurant food looked good.

Four of us went for lunch and all ordered differing plates. The food was so bad, not one of us ate more than one quarter of the dish. Even the coffee was bad!

I was pleasantly surprised to have such a wonderful meal. I went here based on reviews and I was not let down. The perogies and kielbasa were cooked to perfection with plenty of sour cream, onions and real bacon bits... My server was definitely lacking in the motivational department. She was certainly smart enough to do the job but just wanted to stand around chatting with the other girl about when she should take her break. There was a young man working as a server who is a STAR!!! His name is Eugene and he is 13 years old. He was always looking for something to do and picked up all of the slack of the others. He made sure to stop by and make sure I was taken care of. He explained that he doesn’t work here and that it’s a program through school. They are very lucky to have Eugene! I also think it’s great that this restaurant does this program for the special needs children. Great experience all around!

Nice little restaurant. Burgers are always good. 50's style counter and some antiques on display. Service is always pleasant. Many shows and movies shot at this location. Lunch special daily and all day breakfast available. Prices are reasonable. Fries are homemade.

This was a great find. This location hires people with disabilities. We went for breakfast and the value was very good and amount of food more than sufficient. The staff was helpful. The shredded hash browns and eggs were very good. The overall menu has good variety.
