Bidra med feedbackI’ve spent two weeks on ischia and thought I would try some meat for the first time in this period. Since the island is famous for its seafood, thats been my primary diet for my whole vacation. So when we came across Marea on our final day I craved meat and thought that this place would serve prime meat due to their prices and the fact that it looks nice/expensive. But boy was I wrong!! The meat was literally burnt to sh*t and was pretty much only consisting of 20% meat, the rest was fat. And I ordered French fries as a side since it only came with some salad (two leafs of lettuce and a dry tomato) and the fries was absolutely horrible! They probably showed the fries the fryer but it definitely didn’t go in it, they were uncooked and soggy as a pair of wet socks. The worst part was that I told the waiter and his only response was, you don’t want to finish it? And I told him no of course, and told him why. Then I took the food away and just smiled, didn’t offer me something else or tried to fix it either. After this I told him I wanted the check and again, he smiled and walked away. It took 20 minutes and two more times of asking before I got it. DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE.

Lovely atmosphere with a great sea view, jazz music, only beautiful people. Wonderful food and great wines! It’s worthy I recommend it for all reasons and for the kind staff...Fancy but casual so you feel yourself comfortable....

On the ferry to Ischia we met a lovely local woman named Maria who suggested we have dinner at her friend Marco’s restaurant Marea. Knowing there is no better recommendation than from local upon settling into our hotel Mezzatorre we took a taxi to St Angelo which was lovely. To our delight, Maria joined us as did Marco and we had the most lovely dinner of our stay so far in Amalfi and Southern Italy. Everything they recommended to eat was amazing- we went with tuna tartare and fresh catch! No wrong choices!! And of course, be sure to have the semifreddo desert with nuts and digestifs after!
