Sainsbury's Cafe - Sevenoaks

I ordered 3 pieces of bacon, 2 fried eggs, 2 pieces of toast, and a coffee. The bacon was burnt and tasted like cardboard, but the toast was fine and the coffee was just okay. The total price was £10.40. I will never return to this restaurant again. Also, the food was served cold, which made the experience even worse.

Before the pandemic, we used to frequent the local McDonald's in Otford for burgers to go, despite frequently getting our orders wrong. We always had to check our order in the store before leaving. However, after Covid-19, we stopped going to McDonald's and were excited about the opening of Sainsbury's food court. Initially, we enjoyed the Harry Ramsden's cod, chips, and mushy peas as it was good value for money. But after a month, the price went up significantly, so we switched to the Gourmet Burger option. Surprisingly, unlike McDonald's, the staff always got our orders right and the burgers were good, albeit a bit pricey. However, our experience changed in July. I ordered my usual burger meal (burger plus plain burger) with both cooked medium. The server informed me that stating 'medium' was no longer necessary as it was now the default. I also specified no bacon or cheese on the burger meal, just salad, and only meat on the single burger. When I got home, I discovered that the food was now McDonald's standard and not Gourmet Burger. The burger in the meal was covered in cheese and bacon, with no salad, and the meat on the single burger was smaller and tasted like a McDonald's quarter pounder, losing its previous delicious smoky flavor. If this is the new normal, it raises the question of why use the food court when you can get similar, subpar service and food for much cheaper at McDonald's across the street.

I was excited to try the cafe after it had been refurbished, but unfortunately, my experience was very disappointing. The atmosphere was unpleasant and unwelcoming. The food was decent, but both my group and other customers had missing items from their orders. When we asked about the missing items, the staff were rude. Our drinks took a long time to arrive, and one of them was incorrect. Overall, I would not return to this cafe.

Went up to the cafe for a hot drink. Multiple advertising for tea and a mince pie. Queued for five minutes to be told pies out of stock but I could have a different mine pie. I said fine, the girl says £2, the adverts say £2.60. She won’t match the price. So I asked for s coffee instead. She tells her colleague to pour it and tries to charge me for the larger size. I say No I want regular. She cancels the order and starts again. No wonder there’s a huge queue!!
