Experienced LONG wait for seating. Restaurant was not full, the hostess was missing. There were many noisy kids raising the general noise level causing the rest of us to talk loudly to get over the din. Not normal for this location, they are usually very enjoyable. I ordered the special which was their fried smothered pork chops and they were delicious! Nice and tender and not dry and the gravy was the perfect flavor. My husband ordered the fried catfish and it was excellent, nice and crispy outside and tender and flaky on the inside, cooked perfectly. The kids all had the cheeseburgers off the kids meal and had no complaints. We ordered the coca cola cake and beignets for dessert and they were so good! Service was great and food was hot and came out timely. Overall it was a very pleasant experience and we will definitely come back.

My family and I eat here every other month or so. No complaints about the food. We love the variety since some of us are in a breakfast mood while others are in more of a dinner mood. I like the decor and the shop. My son loves the Souix City Sarsaparilla (it 's the only place we can find it) from the shop and I really like all the 'retro ' candies and snacks that I used to get as a kid. My wife is a big fan of the knickknacks and some of the clothing items. I only gave 4 stars because the wait staff doesn 't refill drinks as much as I 'd like.
