Vatos Urban Tacos (beach Road)

One of the best Mexican food joints I’ve had locally. The service was top tier and the food was immaculate. I don’t normally like soft shell tacos but the Chili lime prawn and Galbi short rib tacos were super flavourful and fresh. Definitely coming back again!

Ordered 4 different ones (fish , chicken , pork and prawn to try and we particularly enjoyed the fish and prawn tacos were mainly priced at 3 for $18 Lovely ambience and the place was crowded on a Friday night. Service could be improved as it appears that not all the staff are able to take orders from customers and only selected ones are able to do so.

Price: Taste: 8/10 Value for money: 9/10 (Huge portions… We got the honey tequila chicken wings (9/10 bc bad dip which was ABSOLUTELY DIVINE but like the dip just tasted like yoghurt not sour cream… chicken wings weren’t soggy even though they were drenched in the GREAT SAUCE. I loved this. Then got cheeseburger rolls (7/10 which is like spring roll but beef and cheese stuffed instead. Very nice but could use more cheese and more seasoning on the inside la Vatos style pork belly taco (7/10 , very interesting combi, they use korean pork belly but overall not baddddd but feel like it could have more flavour and idk there was too much rice ah, portion was huge though Last but not least, wah the cheeseburger, i got the “SID” burger (8/10 This one HAD PULLED PORK AND TOO BEEF PATTIES portion was huge and it came with a huge side of fries too, honestly can feed two ppl sia. It was pretty good and the pulled pork very nice but the combination is not like perfect but somehow it works? Overall, try this place out man, its good stuff, they have chope vouchers too!

Carne Asada Steak Quesadilla, Galbi Short Ribs Taco, Korean Pork Belly Taco and Chimichurri Prawn Taco. Comes with Free Chips and salsa Food wise: The tacos are delicious! Interesting taste. My favourite would be the Carne Asada Steak for sure, it is made of Tortillas with melted Mozzarella Cheese and Steak, good stuff. The cheese might be overpowering the steak though. The Tacos are all good, ingredients are fresh and every mouth brings a new experience! To get the most out of the tacos, do try adding the salsa, from the free chips, to the tacos. Ambience wise: Very cosy, bar setting restaurant, very good place to chill.

I absolutely love the tacos here, especially the Baja fish tacos! The fish was served hot, so when you take a bite, you can really enjoy the crunch of the batter. The beef and pork tacos were also fantastic. Combined with the fresh beers, it made for a wonderful meal, and I will definitely return for my taco cravings!
