Well, we haven 't been to Carnaval since COVID started so we didn 't see the remodel. If you decide to come here, make sure to be specific about wanting a table or a booth when making a reservation, you won 't be asked for the option! Otherwise your party will be stuck at a table you may not like and they won 't accommodate you if ask for something different! The wait staff is second to none and the food was ok but the atmosphere is nothing like it used to be. It used to be very relaxing and intimate, low lighting, soft music, a really nice and fancy place for a romantic dinner. People dressed up either in a shirt and tie or nice church clothes. Today totally disappointed us in regards to the atmosphere. People coming in looked like they just come from a hayride or a travelling carnival! It was like going to Texas Roadhouse or some other chain restaurant where no one cares what they look like! It was noisy, no music they changed the booths from round booths to long, square booths so the only ones who can get the food from the gouchos are the ones at the end. Sitting at the round booths made it so everyone could get their own food, and that was the fun of it! With the downgraded atmosphere, the prices are insanely high, over $40 per person. With a party of five, two alcoholic drinks, an iced tea, two lemonades and four desserts, it totaled over $300! Even though the service was outstanding and the food was ok, we 're sorry to say that we won 't return here again for a nice and quiet, intimate dinner. We just feel like we didn 't get our money 's worth like we used to...
